Books
The book fulfills two basic functions for us: as a means of dissemination and a memory, and, even more importantly, as an object of art in itself.
Five books have emerged from General León 51 to date: General León 51, a historical archive of the house, record of the current moment and conceptual reflection on its presence; The Bathroom, a photographic assemblage that emphasizes the chromatic values, textures, furnishings and light of this space; The Garden, a book in which Patricia Lagarde captures the delicacy and mystery of this space in black and white, exploring what she describes as “the third space”; A House for Yuan Qiao Yun, a photographic and documentary reflection on the abovementioned project; and China, 1,350,000,000, a book in which color, texture and volume are the discourse.
